1. Apply

Once you have decided that franchising for you, then you need to think about what you would like to do. The Data Protection market place is fast growing and an exciting place to be. Most SME businesses have done little or nothing to become compliant and those that say they have often haven’t. So, why not call us for a chat and let’s see if we can work together for years to come. There’s no cost and we’d love to hear from you.

2. Vetting & Approval

If you don’t want to call us, you can reach out and request a prospectus from this web site. We can send you this electronically or in the post, it is your choice. Once you receive this, have a read through and call or email us with any questions you may have.

3. Acceptance

Once you are happy that this might be for you we would like to meet you to discuss how we could work together. We will want to know about your career to date and what you can bring to the franchise. We would also like to see your initial business plan for a high-level view of how you would approach this. Don’t worry too much about this at this stage as we will help you fine tune the plan to make you successful.

4. Onboarding

Once we have the business plan agreed and you decide this is for you we will start the paperwork and present you with your Franchise Instruction Manual. Once the agreements are all signed we will organise your training and get you started as soon as we can.

How can I finance the DPFCL Franchise?

NatWest, Lloyds and HSBC have specialist franchise departments as they view franchising as a safer way to start a new business. Business Managers will usually provide good terms and a higher lending proportion of the required start-up capital than might otherwise be available.

Can I run another business in addition to the DPFCL Franchise?

For your Franchise to be a success you will need to commit all of your time to the business and any distraction from this could seriously damage your prospects. The DPFCL Franchise Agreement therefore specifically calls for your undivided attention unless you have the express permission of the Franchisor.

How important is brand image?

Image will be vital to the identity of the DPFCL Franchise network as a whole and the successful development of all our Franchisees. Branding will be national; DPFCL and all Franchisees will need to play their part in supporting this.

Will I need to prepare a business plan?

Yes, as we will need to satisfy ourselves that what you project in your business plan is both realistic and achievable. We are happy to help you prepare this but cannot construct it for you. You will also require this for your own planning and for raising any additional funding required to start your business. (See “Next Steps” following)

Is franchising the best option for me?

Assuming you have made the decision to run your own business, franchising may be your best option as it offers many clear advantages over creating a new business from scratch. You will be able to use an existing business format which we have created. This reduces the risk of starting up a completely new business or working a new area. Our business methodology is already developed and tested in the market. You will have much more credibility with your customers, who will see you as part of a larger national organisation. You can focus on growing your business, in the knowledge that we are with you all the way.

On what basis do you select your Franchisees?

We want our Franchisees to succeed and on that basis,  we will be very selective.  Broadly, we want ambitious people with an understanding of business and an ability to communicate ideas clearly and persuasively. You will be able to absorb procedures and systems with ease, be disciplined, capable and have a positive outlook. Above all we look for happy and pleasant individuals with a passion for delivering consistently high standards and communicating this to their clients.

How will territories be protected?

You will be awarded the rights to operate a DPFCL Franchise in an area which will be predetermined by post code in the Franchise Agreement.

Can I apply to buy further territory?

After one year of successful trading you may apply to buy a further territory if that territory is available, and you can demonstrate that you can successfully operate more than one DPCFL Franchise outlet.

What skills do I need?

We are looking for people who have the necessary personal, skills, experience and the energy and motivation to create a strong loyal customer base in a short period of time. You must be keen to run your own business, focus on success and be prepared to put in the necessary time to make it happen. You must also have an interest in, and affinity with, what we do. It is not necessary for you to have all the skills to operate the DPFCL Franchise system, as you will be provided with the necessary knowledge during training.

Is my success guaranteed?

The simple answer to this question is no. As with any business, it requires hard work and a strong desire to succeed. We will be there to help you all the way so, with your commitment and the DPFCL Franchise method, everything is in place for a successful future.

What is the renewal franchise fee?

You may renew the Franchise Agreement after the 5-year term for a further 5 years. No charge is made for renewal other than the Franchisor’s expenses in legal fees and other third-party expenses.

Can I sell my Franchise?

Yes. One of the benefits of owning a business is the ability to sell on that business and receive the benefit of the capital appreciation you have built up over time. Obviously, we will want to first approve the new owner prior to issuing a new Franchise Agreement, just as we will with you prior to you becoming a DPFCL Franchise.
